What is Askable?
Askable is research infrastructure, founded in Brisbane in 2017. Askable Labs, a division of Askable Pty Limited, produces primary data for frontier AI labs from experts doing real work.
What does the work involve?
You work a real case in your own tools while we record screen, voice and your reasoning out loud. Some briefs have you watch a model attempt the task, stop it when it goes wrong, and say what should have happened.
Who sees my work, and what happens to the recording?
We work directly with a small number of frontier labs and applied teams. Your consent is per brief and per use, so training, evaluation and benchmark publication are authorized separately. Sessions are encrypted in transit and at rest, and reviewed by trained reviewers before delivery.
Is this a job?
No. You take what you want and decline the rest. Once you've done a session, we owe you the fee.
What does it pay, and when?
Depends on the brief, how specialized it is, and how long it runs. Every brief states its fee before you accept. We pay you directly after each session, with nobody else to chase.
What qualifications do I need?
Depends on the brief. Some want a license and years behind you, some want someone who does the job day to day. You don't need any background in AI.
Does it cost anything?
No. We never charge you anything.
