High Level Role Overview

We’re expanding our Growth team and looking for someone with existing experience selling software or tech platforms into the US market. If you are looking for a workplace that is collaborative with a healthy dose of competitiveness, you have found yourself on the right Job Description.

You’ll be based in our Chicago office but with frequent travel to meet your customers in-person (new and existing). Yes, you will get to fly to regions across the US on the regular (every 4-6 weeks) - hello frequent flyer points!

Here’s a snapshot of your Askable days

  • Getting potential users to try (and love) Askable and Askable+
  • Selling to mid to large businesses
  • Driving account development & revenue growth
  • Manage pipeline, revenue forecasts, sales activity using Hubspot for maximum efficiency and visibility
  • Working jointly with our customers to merge their business vision with solution roadmaps
  • Bouncing from meetings (both face-to-face and remote)
  • Creating proposals and quotes
  • Travelling to your customers both locally and interstate as well as packing the suitcase for the odd conference
  • Completing vendor / supplier agreements
  • Attending events, meetups and conferences
  • Ensuring that the broader research and product communities across the US know and love Askable!

In short… Your mission is to drive pipeline growth and boost revenue.

What You’ll Bring

  • Experience selling in the US as well as selling software or tech platforms
  • Collaboration is not a word we just walk about, we live and embody it at Askable. You need to be able to work in a team environment, take and give constructive feedback. And then, you need to be able to go and work independently to achieve and exceed assigned goals
  • Ability to learn and understand product solutions and features
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills: able to engage/sustain clients and construct effective propositions/proposals and respond effectively to tenders
  • Energy, passion and your best dance moves*! (* Not mandatory but we have songs triggered when deals close)
  • Experience with sales frameworks in the past. Bonus if you’ve read and worked with The Challenger Sale and The Sales Acceleration Formula
  • Initiative and problem solving. If you’re looking to work for a company that has a whole lotta red tape, 100-person admin team and filing cabinets full of guides and procedures, this will not be for you.
  • Influence-without-authority (Bonus if you enjoy posting on Linkedin and building your own personal brand)

To sum it all up in less words, if you can sell, be collaborative and not afraid to share your thoughts and feedback in an empathetic and constructive manner, then you’re more than halfway there. If you embody a “we-before-me” mindset and are always keen to learn, then you’re 95% there.
