High Level Role Overview

Our product team is growing and we’re looking for senior designers to come on the journey with us. If you love variety in your work and collaborating with senior engineers and product people, in a fast paced environment where we thrive on delivering quality products and experiences, you have found yourself on the right job description.

For designers, we have such a unique scenario where our clients are actually designers, researchers or product people, who we speak to and run research with on a regular basis. We help them, they help us. Everyone wins. Your expertise in user research, interaction design, and visual design will be key in crafting solutions that meet our users’ needs and drive engagement.

You’ll be based in our head office in Brisbane but responsible for the experience of products and services we have rolled out globally.

Here’s a snapshot of your Askable days

• Design user-centered interfaces and experiences for web and mobile applications
• Collaborate with product and engineers to translate product goals into innovative design solutions
• Conduct user research and usability testing to gather insights and inform design decisions
• Create wireframes, prototypes, and high-fidelity designs for new features and improvements
• Ensure design consistency and coherence across the entire product
• Ensure our various user types are always at the core of our decisions
• Actually see your designs get built! Collaborate with the product team or squad to see features through to delivery, including testing for delivering high quality

What You’ll Bring

• Collaboration is not a word we just walk about, we live and embody it at Askable. You need to be able to work in a team environment, take and give constructive feedback. And then, you need to be able to go and work independently to achieve and exceed assigned goals
• Ability to learn and understand product solutions and features
• Proven experience as a Product Designer with a strong portfolio or case studies showcasing your skills
• Solid understanding of user-centered design principles, interaction design, and responsive design
• Experience in conducting user research and usability testing
• Ability to work effectively in a team and communicate design ideas and prototypes
• Fresh perspectives and new ideas to the growing team

To sum it all up in less words, if you have an eye for detail, don’t have an ego, can be collaborative and not afraid to share your thoughts and feedback in an empathetic and constructive manner, then you’re more than halfway there. If you embody a “we-before-me” mindset and are always keen to learn, then you’re 95% there.
