Although we spent our first five years living the bootstrapped life, we’ve recently secured a significant venture capital round to, well, scale up. Headquartered in Brisbane, and with operations now spanning Australia, the UK, and the US, we’re looking for the right person to take the talent acquisition reins and help strategically accelerate Askable’ mission.

Which is where you come in….

As our Talent Business Partner, your expertise will be crucial as we navigate this exciting phase of expansion. You will be responsible for scaling and leading our talent acquisition operations while working directly with the Hiring Manager to ensure they meet, hiring and onboard the best people for their teams.

Here’s a snapshot of your Askable days

  • Building a mega people pipeline across Engineering, Design, Product Marketing, Customer Success, Sales and Operations.
  • Identifying and meeting candidates.
  • Managing the candidate experience end-to-end.
  • Partnering with the Hiring Managers across the organisation to ensure they have one eye on their immediate needs and another eye on future-planning.
  • Iterating on our existing hiring processes to make our talent acquisition process a well-oiled machine.
  • Adding to our candidate experience to surprise and delight candidates through the process - making them Askable advocates from Day 1.
  • Building our Employer Brand that attracts great talent in Australia, UK and the US
  • Attending events, meetups and conferences to spread the word!

The Challenges You’ll Face

  • Well, there's really one main one, and that is we hold the hiring bar super high. The pipeline you'll be building is not the pipeline you'd be building for most companies - we are highly selective and very clear on who will add value to our team. This will likely serve as a challenge as it means you'll need to work out new ways to find the right people and bring them into the pipeline - you'll also need to be able to filter out the wrong people very early in the process.

What You’ll Bring

  • Previous experience working with tech companies to grow and scale their teams
  • Ability to work autonomously (initially, you will be a 1-person department)
  • A curiosity and passion for all things talent acquisition
  • Collaboration is not a word we just talk about, we live and embody it at Askable. You need to be able to work in a team environment, take and give constructive feedback. And then, you need to be able to go and work independently to achieve and exceed assigned goals
  • Initiative and problem solving. If you’re looking to work for a company that has a whole lotta red tap, 100-person admin team and filing cabinets full of guides and procedures, this will not be for you.

Lots of words. To sum it all up in less words, if you love building and scaling teams, are collaborative and not afraid to share your thoughts and feedback in an empathetic and constructive manner, then you’re more than halfway there. If you embody a “we-before-me” mindset and are always keen to learn, then you’re 95% there.
