We're retiring credits. Here's why and what comes next

When we launched Askable, credits made sense. Buy a bundle, use them as you go. Simple. But Askable has changed a lot since then, and we've built something that works even better.
Over the past year, we've shipped an entirely new research suite. Unmoderated testing, AI-moderated interviews, surveys, prototype testing, tree testing, card sorting, live website testing. Every method a research team needs, in one place.
Credits weren't designed for that. They were built for a world where you mostly booked moderated sessions and recruited participants. Not a world where your team runs a survey on Monday, a prototype test on Wednesday, and an AI-moderated interview on Friday. The mental math of "how many credits does this cost?" started working against the very thing we wanted: teams running more research, more often, without overthinking it.
We also kept hearing from clients that credits, while useful, made it harder for teams to move fast. Budget holders would set a credit balance, hand it to the research team, and researchers would pause before spending them. Do I have enough? Should I check first? It worked, but we knew we could do better.
So we went back to first principles.
That's not a tagline. It's the design brief for how we rebuilt our pricing.
Starting June 2026, credits will be fully retired. We're replacing them with an annual pricing model that changes how your team uses Askable.
Every research method, every plan. Moderated, unmoderated, surveys, prototype testing, tree testing, card sorting. It's all included from day one, with optional AI features when you're ready.
Unlimited seats, always. Your whole team gets access. Product managers, designers, researchers, stakeholders. Everyone's in.
Participants and incentives included. Recruitment costs, incentive payments, it's all baked in. No extra costs.
Predictable annual capacity. You know exactly what you're working with for the year. Forget the credit counting and mid-year budget anxiety.
Built-in flexibility. Need to pivot from surveys to moderated interviews? Go for it. Your pricing doesn't change because your research questions did.
Your current credits remain active until their existing expiry date. When you're ready to move over, your account team will handle the transition end to end. They'll map your current usage, find the right fit, and make sure nothing falls through the cracks. We've got a whole team dedicated to making this as smooth as possible.
If your credits expire before you've transitioned, don't worry. Reach out to your account team and they'll take care of you.
